SNOWBALLS !

It’s December, Winter is so clone you’re freezing for a few seconds, you know? 👀

So let’s not complicate our thoughts. CSGO released back in 2019 a holiday mode dedicated to Winter, where snowballs could be generated and thrown to enemies. That’s what we’re going to use for this event.

If you hit someone with your snowball, their vision would be blurred for a few seconds, and some damage would be given to them.

However, we’re setting out a small twist : you’re only equipped with snowballs for this mission. Your knife does nothing. Buying stuff won’t be possible. If you’re hit, you’re out, and you’ll have to wait the next round to play.

The maplist is still in the works but we’ll try to get interesting maps to play on. If possible, small maps with modified spawns will be played. We know it’s going to be chaotic, and we love that. ☃

How to get snowballs ?

There are 2 ways to get snowballs:

• Either by pressing USE to snowball piles,
• Or to press USE on the snowy grounds.

Careful though: not all snowy surfaces might work, so be careful still to not be open to projectiles!

How to prepare yourself for Sunday?

Installing CS:GO Legacy is extremely easy ; all you need… Is Counter-Strike 2 and activate a specific build. Shocking, right? 😉

More seriously, you will have to go to the Betas tab, and select csgo_legacy - Legacy Version of CS:GO.

And, if you haven’t done it already, in your Launch parameters, you’ll have to add -novid -console .

The update will take an additionnal 30GB to download the full game, so be patient. You’ll just have to select “Play Legacy Version of CS:GO” once it’s done and you’re good to go!

Once the console is opened, just type connect event.baseq.fr:25000 and you’ll be connected to the server!

Unlocking your inventory

Optionally, you can still reuse your inventory and have access to the server list. Simply open this file:

<YOUR STEAMAPPS FOLDER>\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\steam.inf

and replace ClientVersion=1575 by ClientVersion=2000426

You should be able to see a little more in your CSGO menu than earlier… And have access to your inventory again.
