You entered a mysterious room.

There’s a panel with an indication. It says “Counter-STrime-travelling portal”. What does that mean? You are curious, yet scared to know what horrors lie behind that portal.

You entered the portal, and activated the button. You roll the dice to know what it will do.

It says 4.

The portal worked. You believed it would bring you back in a place where noone existed. It proved you wrong. The portal just brought you back to a familiar world, even if these places seem still… Different to you.

You read the message written on your arrival. It says Counter-Strike Beta 4.0.

“This is impossible!!” you scream. Even though you trained your gameplay mechanics for CS 1.6. There is something you cannot comprehend. How did the portal brought you so far, but so close at the same time? You thought you were doomed, but hell. You can’t let that gate slip. You need to act, and fast.

You rolled the dice again. Or so you thought.

There is no more dice. It played against you. The portal was the dice all along, and you were the perfect fool to do such acts.

20. You perfectly disturbed the flow of time with your presence. The entities you thought were familiar are becoming really familiar to you. The guns are distorted. Shaping their more modern form. “Oh, they seem they brought back things I know“, you’re whispering to yourself.

And so are the entities around you.

You thought you were alone. You are not. Suddenly, people seem to randomly teleport out of nowhere. Joining you. Fighting you. Betraying you. You’ll never know. You still have a duty to fulfill.

You thought the portal was against you. Maybe it was. Or maybe it wasn’t. All you know about it… Is that it messed up with your brain.

After all… Where are you? Is it the reality? Or an hallucination?
