AG finally gets the Half-Life 25th treatment!

EDIT #1 : it has been discussed that the gauss self-damage headshot removal and the python’s 50DMG should be included in the AG_HL25 CVAR rather than be forced.

EDIT #2 : We also added more stuff in the “Other than that” category!

We have pushed a big update for Adrenaline Gamer! Here’s the changes!

Changes! Yes! Changes!

The most important update is the inclusion of most (if not all) Half-Life 25th Anniversary changes (almost a year late, thank you HL25’s SDK), meaning the most important fixes and modifications they made are included in our servers!

Of course, you can toggle this variable in the console ( ag_hl25 0/1). These CVAR only changes these elements:

  • MP5 has 50 bullets in its clip upon pickup instead of 25,
  • The Grenades are thrown farther,
  • The Hornet gun reloads faster,
  • The Gauss gun’s self-reflection shouldn’t give you headshot damage anymore.
  • The Python gun now deals 50 DMG instead of 40.

In addition to this, here are the other changes we made :

  • Fixes the Crowbar swings that are not synchronized with the server,
  • Respawn time is now frametime dependant, and not FPS-dependant,
  • The Python is now tied to how Half-Life originally behaves,
  • The Gauss gun now shouldn’t make random noises,
  • The Gluon gun should show the sprite if it’s hitting a player,
  • The issue where player weapons are desync’ed should be fixed.

Of course, some of these changes are not final, and some changes might be relocated to the ag_hl25 CVAR in a near future.

Fixing the most important issue…

Adrenaline Gamer is a good mod for competitive Half-Life, but there are still stuff that are missing in 2024. For instance, there’s no voting menu anymore, unless you know the map of the server by heart.

You can access the voting menu through the following actions:

  • By saying “agmap” in chat,
  • By saying “votemap” in chat,
  • By typing “votemap” on the console.

More commands to help players is coming soon.

AGDB Included

We’ve been recently contacted by 7Mochi to include the Adrenaline Gamer Database to our servers. AGDB is a community database that logs players, their aliases, and immediately bans them in case they’ve been fully flagged with cheats.

You will see a small message upon connecting to the server that it uses the database, but for complete transparency, the whole project is open-source, in case you’re wondering.

Other than that…

  • We updated AG to version 6.6.5.
  • We added a few more commands:
- discord : displays a link to our Discord server.
- patreon : displays a link to our Patreon server along with a paypal alternative.
  • Welcoming messages are now back, and should NOT disturb players in case there’s a match going on.
  • The gamemode shown top-right warns whenever the HL25 ruleset is enabled.
  • You can set a new userinfo variable (“hud_nomatchinfo”) that removes the serversettings that are displayed after each death:
    • “set hud_nomatchinfo 0” = Shows every time (normal behaviour)
    • “set hud_nomatchinfo 1” = Only shows the settings unless a match starts
    • “set hud_nomatchinfo 2” = Disables the display of the settings entirely.
  • You can also set a new userinfo variable (“joinspectator”) that automatically transfer you as a spectator upon connecting.

As far as the game goes, it appears our servers are the most advanced ones for a safe competitive environment. Thank you very much for playing on our servers. 🙂

(Oh, and we added killbox as an added map 😉 )
